If the conflict takes another form, Iran will use new weapons, Hossein Mohebbi, spokesman for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
Referring to the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA), he said that Iran is constantly developing new weapons to defend itself.
Speaking at a press conference held to present a 25-page letter addressed to the American people, Hossein Mohebbi said that the JCPOA was intended to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
“If Iran was really seeking to acquire nuclear weapons and the US claimed that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons, why did the US President withdraw from the JCPOA?” the IRGC spokesman asked rhetorically.
Mohebbi also noted that in addition to producing new weapons, Iran is upgrading its existing weapons.
The IRGC spokesman added that Iran will use all technologies available in the world to develop weapons capable of defending the country and its people and will continue to advance in this direction.
