EU foreign ministers to discuss Eastern Partnership proposals

Brussels. Alexander Kin–APA. Eastern Partnership program will be discussed at the meeting of European Union Foreign Ministers Council on December 8. Sources at the European Commission told APA that EU External Relations and European Neighborhood Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner would inform the ministers about the proposals on the Eastern Partnership initiative and then it would be sent to the EU summit on December 11-12. The sources said the proposals expected to be discussed until later January and early February and to be adopted in EU summit in March 2009. “The Eastern Partnership program will be officially announced at the EU summit in April 2009”.
Azerbaijani, Georgian and Armenian cooperation councils will hold meetings within the EU Ministerial Council on December 8.
