GUAM foreign ministers’ meeting, GUAM + Japan, GUAM+USA, GUAM + Czech Republic meetings take place

Helsinkiâ€“APA. GUAM foreign ministers met in Helsinki, APA reports quoting the Ukrainian foreign ministry as saying that the ministers discussed joint activity of member states to provide peace, security and stability in the region and to fulfill decisions of July 1, 2008 Batumi summit. The ministers emphasized that the international community must direct its efforts and attention toward the solution to the â€œfrozenâ€ conflicts. They also focused on the issues of field cooperation and adjusted candidates for coordinator country on the field cooperation in 2009-2010.
The ministers also arranged meetings within GUAM + Japan, GUAM + USA and GUAM + Czech Republic formats. The ministers provided US diplomats with the proposals prepared within the framework of cooperation with the United States for combating illicit drug turnover, human trafficking and illegal migration.
