Terry Davidson: We look forward to the extension of broadcast licenses of Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty

Baku – APA. “Today a delegation from the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) and the International Bureau of Broadcasting, representing Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), together with U.S. Embassy representatives, held constructive discussions with the National TV and Radio Council (NTRC) and senior government officials regarding the future of foreign broadcasts in Azerbaijan,†said Terry Davidson, head of Public Relations Department of the U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan. “Based on our discussions, we look forward to the extension of broadcast licenses that will allow the radio operations to remain on the air in their current format. With that extension, we will pursue further discussions regarding the best means to ensure that broadcasts remain on the air consistent with Azerbaijani law,†the embassy’s Public Relations Department told APA.
