US asks Azerbaijan to allow time for regulation of foreign radio broadcasting issue

Maharramli called it a legal issue and said he was against its politicization. He detailed the broadcasting system of Azerbaijan and informed the guests about the national legislation bans on broadcasting of foreign radios in the national frequencies. Maharramli said the Azerbaijani legislation set possibility of the foreign radio broadcasting only via cable, satellite and Internet.
Member of the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council Gafar Jabiyev told APA that Maharramli informed the guests that if the governments reach agreement, foreign radio stations can continue their broadcasting in Azerbaijan. “They said they would make steps toward this and asked to allow them a time”.

Maharramli noted that the National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council can discuss the issue, the Council official said.
