Eastern Partnership communiqué to be submitted today

Baku. Lachin Sultanova –APA. The European Commission will submit to the Ministerial Council on Wednesday its communiqué on the Eastern Partnership policy between EU and its neighbors Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Armenia. EU representative on Azerbaijan Alan Vaddams told APA representatives of the countries involved in the partnership plan were not invited to the presentation ceremony. “The document will be discussed with the EU institutions at first and then will be presented to those countries”.

EU External Relations and Neighborhood Policy Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner will submit the communiqué. Vaddams said the new program aimed to accelerate the European Neighborhood Policy and considered to sign associative agreements with 5 countries.

Priorities of the communiqué are free trade zone, crisis management, joint exercise, migration policy, easing of visa regime, protection of environment and energy cooperation, etc.

The Eastern Partnership program will not change Azerbaijan-EU Action Plan adopted within the European Neighborhood Policy.
