Professors Shamil Fatullayev and Kamal Abdulla awarded “Gloria Artis” medal of Poland

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. Professors Shamil Fatullayev and Kamal Abdulla have been awarded “Gloria Artis” medal of Poland for their merits in culture, APA reports. The medal was presented to famous architect Shamil Fatullayev in Polish embassy in Azerbaijan. Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski, who is visiting Baku, said Shamil Fatullayev had been awarded for his research and books about the activity of Polish architects in Baku. Professor gave his two books to the minister.

The medal was presented to rector of Baku Slavic University Kamal Abdulla at the meeting of the Scientific Council in Baku Slavic University. Following the ceremony, meeting was held in the rector’s cabinet. Kamal Abdulla said Baku Slavic University cooperated with Warsaw and Poznan universities of Poland, gave information about the Department of the Polish Language and Culture, Center of the Polish Language and Culture, two Polish experts working there. Kamal Abdulla said distinguished students were sent to Poland to improve their knowledge and added that along with “Rasulzadeh” award, Pilsudski award had been instituted in the university. Book “The Polish language in Azerbaijan” is being prepared for publication at the university.

Following this, Minister of Poland presented the award to Kamal Abdulla. He said that the medal was conferred on Kamal Abdulla for what he had written, done and would do to deepen the relations between Azerbaijan and Poland.

The Minister visited the Center of the Polish Language and Culture, read a poem for the students learning the Polish language, they sang songs. Following this, the Minister answered the questions of the students through radio center.
