CIS and UNESCO sign memorandum of understanding on cooperation in science, culture and education

Baku. Viktoriya Dementyeva – APA. CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund and UNESCO signed memorandum of understanding on cooperation in science, culture and education in Paris yesterday.
APA reports quoting RIA Novosti that on behalf of the CIS the memorandum was signed by Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Armenia.
“I am sure that the new agreement will open new doors for cooperation with CIS member states in all the spheres covered by UNESCO,” said UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura.
According to the document, the sides will implement common programs on education, conduct monitoring and trainings for museum employees and realize projects on science and education in CIS countries.
