Azerbaijan pays 503 thousand euro to the Council of Europe budget

Baku. Lachin Sultanova–APA. The council of Europe Ministerial Committee approved the budget 2009, which will be 205 million euro and without increasing of membership fees. The budget targets increasing expenditures of the European Court of Human Rights and Human Rights Commissioner’s bureau and adequate funding of priority directions. It will mostly focus on human rights, democracy, supremacy of law, security of European citizens and more humanist and solidarity Europe as it was described in the Plan of Action adopted by the heads of states and governments in their third meeting.

Azerbaijan pays 503.074.91 euro membership fee to the Council of Europe, which is 0.2454 percent of its budget. Armenia’s contribution to the budget is 246.002.40 euro, which is 0.1200 percent of total budget. The biggest payers are France, Germany, Italia, Great Britain and Russia. Each of them pays 24.433.778.38 euro (11.9180%).
