European Union’s President Herman Van Rompuy to visit Azerbaijan on July 5

According to him, this is a high level presidential visit and will be realized within EU President’s visit to the South Caucasus: “This is the first visit of EU President to Azerbaijan. This visit shows that the EU intends to develop relations with the regional countries, including Azerbaijanâ€.
During the visit, EU President will hold discussions about several issues, including Azerbaijan-EU relations and settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Kobia reminded that European Commission’s President Manuel Barroso and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton have repeatedly announced the desire of the European Union to play more active role in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
