APA reports that despite the fact that the territory of Azerbaijan was basically part of Iran and the separated territory of Iran on north bank of Araz River was called in various names, Iran has not objected to the name of the new state.
According to IRIB, the Republic of Azerbaijan was established ostensibly in the separated territory of Iran on the basis of Gulustan and Turkmanchay, which the agency called shameful treaties.
