Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan send congratulatory letters to President of Azerbaijan on Republic Day

Baku â€“ APA. Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent congratulatory letters to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the national holiday of Azerbaijan â€“ the Republic Day. The letter sent by President Abdullah Gil reads:

â€œDear Mr. President, my dear brother! On behalf of me and behalf of Turkish people, I congratulate Your Excellency and all Azerbaijani people on the national holiday of fraternal Azerbaijan â€“ the Republic Day. The relations between our friendly countries have developed successfully in the short 20-year period. Strengthening and moving forward close relations, which have deep historic roots, and classic solidarity between our peoples is our greatest goal. We aim to extend our achievements in the cooperation with Azerbaijan, and boost our relations for welfare of our people and peace and stability in the regionâ€. President Gul invited Azerbaijani leader to pay an official visit to Turkey.

In his letter, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said: â€œOn behalf of the government and nation of Turkey, on my own, I send my sincere congratulations on the national holiday of friendly Azerbaijan â€“ the Republic Day. We share pride and happiness of Azerbaijani people. Turkey and Azerbaijan are the countries that gain power from common history and cultural unity, having close ties and same destiny today. From this point of view, the 1st meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council held in Izmir on October 25, 2011 and its second meeting to be held in Baku in 2012 is a sign of the level of our relations in the last 20 years. Azerbaijan is our most important strategic ally in the region and we are proud of the achievements of your country. I believe we will move Turkey-Azerbaijan relations on both bilateral and regional issues on the basis of mutual benefit and solidarity. I wish You good health, happiness, welfare and stability to friendly Azerbaijani people.â€
