Foreign Ministry comments on European Parliamentâ€™s resolution on human rights in Azerbaijan

According to Abdullayev, some members of the European Parliament announced that the resolution adopted on Azerbaijan was wrong.

He said that exaggeration of any incident and giving a political color to it damages the position and neutrality of the European Parliament: â€œIt prejudices their position and neutralityâ€.

He said that there was no doubt that a dirty campaign is conducted in Europe against Azerbaijan. According to him, the adoption of such resolution is a component part of this campaign: â€œThe conditions created for opposition and media in Azerbaijan keep pace with the European countries. Even they are better than in some cases. We know that the European media writes the ordered articles and who is behind it. The constant statements in Europe on freedom of assembly have a manipulation character. Azerbaijan is an independent country and implements its policy in accordance with its interests. There is no need for anybodyâ€™s pressure and words. Why donâ€™t the MPs, who adopted that resolution, pay attention to the Islamophobia and anti-Semitism in Europe?â€
