The U.S. State Department and the European Parliament adopt a document on the situation of human rights in Azerbaijan

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. The U.S. State Department published the Annual Report on Human Rights in the world, in 2011, APA reports.

According to APA, the report presents the situation of human rights in up to 200 countries around the world.

Regarding the human rights situation in Azerbaijan in 2011 marked the right to freedom of speech, assembly, association, the judiciary and the disputes around the issue of compensation to residents of the demolished houses.

The report also says that while held in March-April protest had been arrested, as well as the responses that were given to the executive power of Baku, in connection with appeals concerning the action.

Along with information about social conditions in detention centers and prisons, the paper also notes that under the arrangement of works on the controversial Baku was the situation surrounding the awards were for violations of property rights.

Today the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation of human rights in Azerbaijan.

The resolution calls on the Azerbaijani government to allow peaceful actions.

The resolution condemns anti-propaganda, threats against participants and spectators of the contest "Eurovision 2012" by radical Islamists.
