Foreign Affairs Ministry concerned about actions outside Azerbaijanâ€™s consulate in Tabriz

Baku. Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is concerned about the intensification of actions held outside the consulate general of Azerbaijan in Tabriz, spokesperson for the ministry Elman Abdullayev said at the briefing today, APA reports.

Abdullayev reminded that Azerbaijan and Iran have ancient historical traditions, joint historical roots. â€œUnfortunately the forces damaging our relations stand behind these actions. They are not interested in development of Azerbaijan-Iran relations. We noted repeatedly that Azerbaijan doesnâ€™t consult with anyone while making political decisions. We establish our relations with Iran on the basis of friendly neighborhood principles, which donâ€™t consider interference in domestic affairs of each other. This is an equal neighborhood relationshipâ€.

Underlining the Azerbaijanâ€™s loyalty to this principle Abdullayev said Azerbaijan was changed in the last 20 years. â€œOur country turned into the developed country of the region and partnerâ€. The spokesperson noted that the largest obstacle to the regionâ€™s development was Armeniaâ€™s aggression policy and the Nagorno Karabakh conflict as its consequence.

Abdullayev reminded that entire Muslim world, the world community and Organization of Islamic Cooperation supported Azerbaijanâ€™s position on Nagorno Karabakh conflict and recognized Armenia as an aggressor country: â€œThe Muslim world, Organization of Islamic Cooperation adopted the documents and resolutions condemning the occupation of the lands of Azerbaijan. It shows that the Muslim world doesnâ€™t remain indifferent to Azerbaijanâ€™s tragedy. Unfortunately, the forces that stand behind the actions outside the Azerbaijanâ€™s consulate general in Iran damage both sides, including Iran-Azerbaijan relationsâ€.
