Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: â€œThe state of Azerbaijan is always ensuring security of both its citizens and the foreigners in the countryâ€

Baku. Victoria Dementieva, Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. The US Embassy in Azerbaijan called its citizens to be vigilant during the mass events within the Eurovision 2012 Song Contest in Baku. The embassy placed the security alert reminder on its website today, APA reports.

The embassy said the reminder issued early this year remained in force.

The reminder reads: â€œIn light of the upcoming Eurovision events in Baku, U.S. citizens in Azerbaijan should remain especially vigilant while attending large events. U.S. citizens should remain constantly aware of their surroundings, note the location of emergency exits, and be mindful about their personal security.â€

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev comments on US Embassyâ€™s message. â€œAzerbaijan is one the most secure countries in the world. The state of Azerbaijan is always ensuring security of both its citizens and the foreigners in the country. The security of tourists arriving in Baku and other regions of the country is always ensured at high levelâ€.

Azerbaijanâ€™s Ministry of National Security also made comments on the US Embassyâ€™s Eurovision 2012 alert reminder. Spokesman for the ministry Arif Babayev told APA that necessary preventive measures are being conducted for the prevention of possible threats against the national interests and security of Azerbaijan.
