German Foreign Ministry to host event on Azerbaijan

The event, which will be organized by the German Ministry of Affairs, the Union of German Journalists and Institute of Culture named after Nizami Gandjavi on May 23 in Berlin, was dedicated to Eurovision-2012 Song Contest.

In the meeting, Chairman of the Union of German Journalists Bernd LÃ¤mmel will speak about his impressions after visiting Azerbaijan, chairman of the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan Elchin Shikhli will make a speech about the current state of press in the country and journalist Faina Hanifayeva about the position and activity of young female journalists in the society. Director of the Institute of Culture named after Nizami Gandjavi Nourida Ateshi will read poems from the anthology â€œThe millenary love poetry of Azerbaijanâ€, which she translated into German and tell the representatives of press about the culture and history of Azerbaijan.

Well-known German journalist Dr. Frank Ãœberall will be presenter of the event.

Press service of the Institute told APA that Azerbaijani Ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov was also invited to the event.

The purposes of the event are to show closely the culture, history and current life of Azerbaijan. The cultural, political figures and media representatives of Germany will participate in the event.
