Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. Azerbaijani embassy in Pakistan investigates the reports on killing of Azerbaijani citizen, who reportedly was among militants in this country. Second Secretary of the embassy Chingiz Garibli said that the embassy was studying this issue and sent a questionnaire to the Pakistani side: “Pakistani side hasn’t still confirmed this informationâ€.
Diplomat said that the incident occurred on Pakistan-Afghanistan border: “If it is confirmed that the Azerbaijani citizen was among the killed, we will take the corresponding stepsâ€.
Five mujahideen, including an Azerbaijani man, were killed as the US unmanned aircrafts launched strikes against the militants in Pakistan at night to January 23. One of them is reported Khagani Sahib Imamverdiyev who was wanted by Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies over draft evasion.
