The United States believes that the deployment of American troops in Iraq is no longer necessary, said US President Donald Trump during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, APA reports.
"We don't think we need military presence there. It's a very large operation, and oil companies are now coming in and making deals with Iraq," he said. "We're ready to help and protect them, but we don't think it will be necessary."
Trump claimed that Iran was Iraq's greatest adversary, but that, due to Washington's supposed weakening of the Islamic Republic, Baghdad no longer faces this problem. "Iran has been severely destabilized, and their military strength is a fraction of what it was four months ago," the American leader declared.
