Georgia plans to deport at least 4,000 illegal migrants this year, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists, APA reports.

According to him, there were approximately 20,000 illegal migrants in Georgia last year.

"Over the past year, more illegal migrants have been deported from Georgia than during the previous 10 years. Under this year's plan, at least 4,000 illegal migrants are expected to be deported from the country, which will ultimately allow us to completely eliminate this problem in Georgia within the next few years, approximately four years," Kobakhidze added.

It should be noted that since the beginning of this year, 2,203 illegal migrants have already been expelled from Georgia, exceeding the total figure for 2025 by 70%.
