Pope Benedict XVI says Vatican-Azerbaijan relations exemplary

Baku-APA. Pope Benedict XVI has called the Vatican`s relations with Azerbaijan exemplary, APA reports quoting AzerTaj.
In his annual address to the diplomatic corps, the pontiff said: â€œThe Vatican attaches a particular importance to developing its relations with States,â€ adding from this point of view the Vatican`s relations with Azerbaijan could serve as an example.
The Pope emphasized the Accords signed between the Vatican and Azerbaijan on the status of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan.
In a meeting with Azerbaijan`s ambassador Elchin Amirbayov, Pope Benedict XVI said the Vatican attached great significance to bilateral relations.
