Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, met with a delegation from the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation during the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, APA reports.
The visiting delegation included Secretary General Sohail Mahmood, Director Mustafa Ozcan, and Executive Assistant Muhammad Bilal Khan.
The meeting focused on the prospects for expanding and deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and the D-8 Economic Cooperation Organization.
During the discussions, Hikmet Hajiyev recalled the initiative put forward by President Ilham Aliyev to establish the D-8 Media Excellence Center in Azerbaijan. He highlighted that the inaugural D-8 Media Forum was hosted by Azerbaijan last year as a direct result of this presidential initiative, making the launch of the new center its logical next step.
Secretary General Sohail Mahmood congratulated Azerbaijan on the establishment of the D-8 Media Excellence Center.
Both sides emphasized that the new center will serve as a vital platform for training media professionals from D-8 member states, addressing emerging challenges in artificial intelligence and media, organizing training programs to combat disinformation, and fostering the exchange of professional experience.
