Israeli embassy in Azerbaijan: No fans or journalists applied for visa neither to Israeli Embassy in Baku nor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel

The statement sent to APA by the Israeli embassy says:
“We read the news headlines regarding the football match between football clubs of Israel (“Makkabiâ€) and Azerbaijan (“Khazar-Lankaranâ€). We want to make clear that no fans or journalists applied for visa neither to Israeli Embassy in Baku nor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel in this regard. And, hence nobody was refused. The team itself made all its arrangements directly with Israel through its own connections. We encourage sport activities between the two countries. And, there were many groups visiting Azerbaijan and Israel. And, we hope that the best group will win. The Israeli Embassy in Baku will be happy to assist in any future visit of an Azerbaijani sports team to Israel.â€
The match between “Makkabi†and “Khazar-Lankaran†football clubs will be held in Tel Aviv tomorrow, the return match will be held in Lankaran on July 21.
