Baku. M. Guliyeva – APA. “It is necessary that Russia and the international community put more pressure on Armenia to be more open and transparent,” former chair of Political Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and former head of Swedish delegation Göran Lindblad told APA. He said that the risk of war between Azerbaijan and Armenia increased after the Kazan meeting of the presidents.
“It is necessary that negotiations are back on the track. The key is in Russia, however the latest meeting showed that president Medvedev has no success,” he said.

Lindblad considers that Russia, the major mediator in the resolution of the conflict, does not want war, but the way that they act, there is a risk.
“Moscow should put pressure on Armenia and stop arming them, make Armenia sign the updated principles on the peaceful solution of the problem,” he said.

Göran Lindblad said if Azerbaijan is provoked enough, there is a risk that they will retaliate, and will be blamed by the international community.
“The problem is that Armenia lobby is stronger in the EU and the USA, and that even works in the policy. We are not enough, but things are changing. I can tell you that after the meeting in the EU, you can see that the European politicians have been changing their approach towards Azerbaijan,” he said.
