Lidice street inaugurated in settlement populated by internally displaced persons from Khojaly

APA reports that Ambassador of Czech Republic to Azerbaijan Radek Matula, head of Khojaly region executive power Shahmar Usubov, head of Goranboy region executive power Nizameddin Guliyev, member of â€œNagorno Karabakhâ€™s Azerbaijani communityâ€ Public Union, MP Elman Mammadov, Khojaly residents attended the ceremony.

The participants said German fascists committed slaughters during the Great Patriotic War in Lidice village, after years Armenians repeated this tragedy in Khojaly.

Film describing Lidice tragedy was demonstrated. The board with the name of Lidice street was unveiled at the end of the event.

The fates of Khojaly and Lidice are alike. Lidice was destroyed by German fascists in 1942, its people were killed. Lidice and Khojaly were fraternized. A street in Lidice is named after Khojaly.
