Azerbaijani Foreign Minister receives permanent representatives of several countries to UN

Minister spoke about Azerbaijan after the restoration of its independence and noted that the country is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its independence. It was noted that Azerbaijan is the leading country of the South Caucasus and due to the successful policy pursued by President no large project is implemented in the region without Azerbaijanâ€™s participation.

Elmar Mammadyarov also spoke about the countryâ€™s energy policy, supply of Europe and the world market by Azerbaijanâ€™s hydrocarbon resources, transport projects established on the ancient Silk Road and Azerbaijanâ€™s participation in these projects, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project uniting the East and West and other regional and international projects.

Noting that Azerbaijan is an active member of a number of international organizations, Minister said last month the country became full member of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Informing the guests about Azerbaijanâ€™s most painful problem Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict Elmar Mammadyarov said the status quo is considered inadmissible by the international community and underlined that the conflict can be solved only within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity.

Foreign Minister answered the guestsâ€™ questions about the processes in Azerbaijan and the region.
