Russian Foreign Ministry: The Kazan meeting has given hopes that the sides will adopt the basic principles for the development of the peace agreement

Lukashevich said this while expressing the Kremlinâ€™s position on Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijaniâ€™s proposal on changing the format of OSCE Minsk Group and Iranâ€™s joining the process. He said the recent trilateral meeting of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev with Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents in Kazan has given hopes for progress in this difficult process and that the sides will adopt the basic principles for the development of the peace agreement.
â€œI reiterate that the question is the format established within years. OSCE Minsk Group was established early in the 90s. Despite the various stages of the development of the conflict, Group showed that its potential has not expired. Acting in a responsible manner the co-chairs are helping Baku and Yerevan reach an agreement,â€ he said.
