OSCE PA chairman: “The issue on the appointment of assembly chairman’s new special representative on Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be settled in the nearest future”

The Azerbaijani delegation, which participates in the session, raised a question on settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. APA reports quoting “AzerTaj” state agency that Head of Azerbaijani delegation, Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Bahar Muradova raised an issue on the appointment of assembly chairman’s new special representative on Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The Assembly chairman Petros Efthymiou said that this issue will be settled in the nearest future.

In his speech, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis, spoke about his visit to the region, meetings, expressed sorrow for unsettlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, and said that he will continue his work on settlement of the conflict.

Responding to Bahar Muradova’s question on this issue, the OSCE chairman said that Azerbaijan and Armenia must separately assess the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group. The group has offered many suggestions and is continuing to offer. The reactions of both countries to the suggestions must be analyzed.

In his speech, member of the Azerbaijani parliament Azay Guliyev raised a question on possibility of the co-chair’s making speech in front of the assembly, criticized Armenia for attempts to break the negations and underlined the importance of its assessment.
