Sergey Lavrov: â€œThe number of incidents occurred in Nagorno Karabakh, contact line of troops decreasedâ€

Victoria Dementieva â€“ APA. â€œThe report presented in Vienna on the results of monitoring conducted in Nagorno Karabakh in the contact line of troops shows that the number of incidents, occurring in the contact, line has decreasedâ€, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the press conference together with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian held in Moscow, APA reports.

Lavrov said that Russia remains on position outlined in the Deauville statement of the co-chair countries, as well as approved in the last few years by Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents: â€œThese documents not only confirm the devotion to the peaceful settlement, but also include the decrease of tension, strengthening of confidence, and agreements on prevention the incidents in the contact line. As I said, Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents accepted these obligations with the participation of Russian president. The next monitoring has been conducted recently in the contact line by OSCE. The report of the mission, which conducted the monitoring, showed that the number of the incidents is decreasing. It is positive tendency. We will do everything for the strengthening of this tendency and observation the achieved agreementsâ€.
