Azerbaijani President receives speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation led by speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Akhmatbek Keldibekov, APA reports. The head of state said this visit is a good opportunity to discuss the bilateral relations in all spheres and determine the future development of the relations.

Expressing his satisfaction with the participation of the large delegation of the Kyrgyz parliament in the Third Congress of the World Azerbaijanis, President underlined the importance of holding the meeting of Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations in Baku every five years. Speaking about the development of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic, the head of state remembered the meetings held with the Kyrgyz leadership, he said that bilateral and regional issues were discussed during the meetings. Ilham Aliyev touched on the interparliamentary cooperation and underlined that these relations entered a new stage after the establishment of the Turkic-Speaking Countriesâ€™ Parliamentary Assembly, the parliaments of our countries are actively cooperating within the framework of this organization.

Akhmatbek Keldibekov expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijanâ€™s â€œFriendshipâ€ order conferred on the great Kyrgyz writer and thinker Chingiz Aytmatov in 2008. Akhmatbek Keldibekov noted that great political figure Heydar Aliyev is always commemorated with deep respect in his country and underlined that Heydar Aliyev defended the interests of the national republics when he held highest post in the Soviet Union. He said the visit of Heydar Aliyev to the Kyrgyz Republic and his participation in the events on the 1000th anniversary of Manas, the historical monument of the Kyrgyz people, is still remembered with deep respect. Akhmatbek Keldibekov underlined that there are great opportunities to improve the bilateral relations in various spheres, enhance interparliamentary relations.
