Palestinian President : We are proudly looking at the Republic of Azerbaijan

The head of the Palestinian State said that since 1918, Azerbaijani woman has the right to vote. "You go along the path of democracy. There are much common things between us. We are also moving toward democracy. In philistine women, also have right to vote, elect and be elected. They are everywhere taking their rightful place, including in the municipalities. The goal here is to ensure gender equality. In the matter of womenâ€™s equality to some extent, we are learning from you", - he said.

Palestinian President said that he supports to resolve all the conflicts in the region through peaceful way. "If Israel government will return to 1967 borders at the international level, we are ready to go with them to negotiate for peace. But, unfortunately, we failed to do so. Therefore proposed to apply to the UN. Let them tell us that what people should do that more than 63 years of living under occupation? We, at least, want independence. We are working on this issue and if we do not succeed, then turn to the UN", - Palestinian President said.

Mahmoud Abbas said that Azerbaijan and Palestine have common problems: refugees and occupied territories.

"Recently we watched the meeting in Kazan. Observed the position of Russia, France and the U.S. related to this problem. And this is an indication of interest of the world to this problem. But we say that it is better to solve these problems today than tomorrow. Because no one can guarantee that, they will be solved tomorrow. We hope that Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the refugee problem to resolve. We do not require anything extra of international law. We have common problems. We want them to be resolved", - President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas said.
