Azerbaijani President: Azerbaijan supports Palestinian State at all international organizations

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijani-Palestinian political relations are at a very high level. "Your visit to Azerbaijan is a good example for this. A few months ago, Palestinian Embassy has begun to work in Azerbaijan. This is also a very important event. I am confident that as a result of the embassy will be new opportunities for the development of our bilateral relations", - President Aliyev said.

The Head of State noted there are great opportunities for corporation in the humanitarian and cultural sphere. â€œI want to say that Azerbaijan supports the Palestinian State at all international organizations. During all the discussion at the Organization of Islamic Conference, at the United Nations, Azerbaijan is close to Palestine, and this will continue. We believe that there will soon be established an independent, sovereign State of Palestine, whose capital should be East Jerusalemâ€, - He said.

â€œIt is our position. We defend and we will defend Palestine at all international organizations. On the one hand, it is our fraternal duty, but on the other hand, the position established on the basis of international law. The support to the State of Palestine on a global scale and growth of the support indicate that your diplomacy and your political initiative, your personal activities are very sympathetic to the global scale", - He said.

President Aliyev speaking about the solution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh said that the international community supports Azerbaijanâ€™s position. â€œThe Security Council of the United Nations adopted four resolutions, which stipulate that the Armenian occupation forces must withdraw unconditionally from the Azerbaijanâ€™s occupied territories. Unfortunately, the Armenian side is still ignoring these resolutions. Other international organizationsâ€™ positions are also similar. Organization of Islamic Conference, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the OSCE adopted a similar resolution and resolutionâ€, - He said.

The Head of the State noted that legal reasons for to resolve the issue are so strong. â€œI am sure that Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity. We want to resolve this issue quickly and peacefully", - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
