APA reports that the organization will be called as the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation basing on the decision passed in the Council’s 38th session in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The Organization of the Islamic Conference was established on September 25, 1969 in the conference of leaders of Muslim countries held in Rabat, Morocco. The organization has 57 member-states which population is 1.2 billion. The organization’s headquarters is situated in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
