Russian Investigative Committee: â€œThe reports about Azerbaijanâ€™s Consul General in St Petersburg are falsehood and slanderâ€

According to APA, accusations against Gudsi Osmanov were not confirmed during the investigation. â€œEarly in April, Aliyeva G. and Samadzadeh Aybeniz appealed the Internal Affairs Office of St Petersburg accusing the Consul General of Azerbaijan in St Petersburg in violence against them. During the investigation, it was identified that the reports were falsehood and slander. Testimonies of both women contradicted to the objective reports and testimonies of the persons not interested in the case. Friends and relatives of those women were characterized as the persons inclined to falsehood and having anti-social life styleâ€, said the investigators and added that Aybeniz Samadzadeh was identified as drinker and drug user, who stole money from the houses where she lived.

Vagif Mamishov, who is suspected in organizing false reports, refused to give testimony under the different pretexts. â€œThere were evidences, as well as audiotapes proving that this person offered money to those women to give false testimony against Osmanovâ€.

The investigators found evidences about Narmin Eyvazova, who was also forced to give false testimony against Osmanov. Vagif Mamishov met the woman, who was working at the consulate, and promised her money, high-paying job and medical care for her mother instead of her testimony against the consul. But the woman didnâ€™t accept Mamishovâ€™s offer and refused to give testimony against Osmanov.

The accusations against Consul General Gudsi Osmanov were not confirmed during the investigation. Law-enforcement agencies are investigating the incident happened during the Novruz festivities in St Petersburg. The person named as M. Bakhshiyev is expected to be charged with insult and slander against Consul General of Azerbaijan in St Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov.
