Russian Foreign Ministry issues statement on Kazan meeting of Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian presidents

The statement says that meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will be held with the participation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Kazan tomorrow.
“This meeting is expected to play the role of critical line in the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We expect Baku and Yerevan to express constructive opinion on the Deauville statement issued by the presidents of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries. In the Deauville statement presidents of Russia, US and France called on Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders to demonstrate political will and finalize the discussion on the draft basic principles of the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict during Kazan meeting. The document, which will be discussed in Kazan, is the result of the important period of the joint work between the sides and the co-chairing countries, it gives real grounds for further advancement and preparation of the Peace Agreement. We hope that basing on this the sides will reach agreement for the sake of peace, development and prosperity of the region.”
