Swedish Foreign Minister visits Icherisheher – PHOTO

Baku – APA. Swedish Foreign Minister Karl Bildt, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, visited Icherisheher, the Old City of Baku. First, the guest was informed about Maiden Tower, ancient monument of the Old City, and repair and museum conservation work here, the Old City Historical-Architectural Reserve Center told APA. The Swedish minister became familiarized with two-storey Caravansarai, the irreplaceable attribute of the ancient commercial relations of Azerbaijan and Oriental life. He also saw Ashur Mosque built in 1169 and nearby Friday Mosque. Bildt also visited the Art Garden – pictorial and decorative art center and wrote his cordial message on the Book of Honorary Guests.
