Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan express determination to resolve Caspian Sea issues

The delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov, APA reports quoting â€œTurkmenistan.ruâ€ website.

According to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held in an open, warm and friendly atmosphere. The sides discussed progress in the phased determination of the international legal status of the Caspian Sea and preservation of its biodiversity and ecology.

"The parties stressed the commitment of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to resolve all issues through diplomatic and legal means and methods. The development of the comprehensive cooperation and mutually agreed actions in the Caspian region corresponds to the long-term interests of all littoral states,â€ the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan noted.

The meeting participants also stressed their mutual interest in further development of international dialogue, including through regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
