He said that the proposals on the updated European Neighborhood Policy were made public on May 25.
“The proposals put forward by the European Commission and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton want to see progress in free elections, freedom of assembly, free media and transparency in governance. We will determine our policy in accordance with the progress observed in every country participating in the European Neighborhood Policy. The more the country meets democratic values, the more financial and political support it will get from the European Union,” he said.
Ambassador added that otherwise the EU can reduce or stop its support.

European Neighborhood Policy is being implemented since 2004. The program covers 16 countries, including Azerbaijan.
