20th anniversary of Azerbaijanâ€™s independence marked in Moscow

According to APAâ€™s correspondent in Moscow, First lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and First Lady of Russia Svetlana Medvedeva participated at the ceremony organized by the Haydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia. At the event was held presentation of the book "Azerbaijan" in Russian, and an exhibition of Azerbaijani carpets. President of the Haydar Aliyev Foundation noted that the statehood of Azerbaijan has an ancient history. "Our country has always been a bridge between East and West, North and South. Over the centuries of living together among the peoples of Azerbaijan formed tolerance and stability. Over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has made considerable progress in various areas, economic development has reached record highs. 75% of the economy of the South Caucasus has in Azerbaijan. She expressed her regret that Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh still remaining unsolved and 1 million people still remaining as refugee and IDPs."We hope that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be resolved only within the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and international standards and principles". - Azerbaijani First lady said.

On the evening of the concert artists of Azerbaijan performed. Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Peopleâ€™s Artist of Azerbaijan Rauf Abdullayev performed the works of Uzeir Gadzhibekov and several other composers.
