Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament: â€œToday when we say west, one understands the gendarmeâ€

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA. â€œToday when we say west, one understands the gendarme. They took in hand thre international policy, international law and use it how they want.â€, said Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov at the Parliamentâ€™s meeting, APA reports.

Asgarov severely protested the last resolution adopted by the European Parliament named it double standard and wicked blow: â€œTheir motto is such: the power is ours, the resource is ours. It must be such as we want, whether you want or not. Touching the issues on justice, equality, and security they say that we must settle it ourselves. Then the question appears, why have you invited us there? When they need gas and oil they run to the Azerbaijani president, but as soon as 2-3 criminals are arrested they work for NGOs. It is Azerbaijanâ€™s work too. Come and settle with Azerbaijan. If there is a problem, if we are its member, we must settle it together. For which purpose we need double standard?

The vice-speaker said that there are very serious pressures to Azerbaijan on the implement of â€œNabuccoâ€ project: â€œUsing it, they want to get additional discounts from Azerbaijan. When they canâ€™t get it, if there is pressure to Azerbaijan under cover of democracy, human rights, it is non-mannishly. There is no courage in the international world. Despite it, we have double standardsâ€.
