OSCE PA President meets with leaders of political parties of Azerbaijan - <font color=red>UPDATED</font>

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthymiou, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan met with the leaders of the political parties of the country. According to APA, deputy chairman and executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov, chairman of Musavat Party Isa Gambar, chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) Ali Karimli, chairman of Citizen Solidarity Party Sabir Rustamkhanli, chairman of Great System Party Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Ana Vatan (Motherland) Party Fazail Agamali, chairman of Azerbaijan Liberal Party (ALP) Avaz Temirkhan, chairman of Justice Party Ilyas Ismayilov, chairman of Umid (Hope) Party Igbal Agazadeh, chairman of Social Welfare Party Khanhuseyn Kazimov and others attended the meeting.

After the meeting, YAP executive secretary Ali Ahmadov told journalists that settlement of Nagorno Karabakh was discussed at the meeting: â€œWe noted that the Minsk Group works within the framework of the OSCEâ€™s authorities. But unfortunately the Minsk Group couldnâ€™t do efficient work on Azerbaijanâ€™s most painful problem despite a lot of time have passed. Azerbaijani society has serious critical opinion on the OSCE Minsk Group.

Ahmadov said that the socio-political situation and the state of democracy in the country were discussed at the meeting: â€œWe noted that Azerbaijan made progress in the field of democratization. The leaders of opposition parties express their traditional critical opinions. But I consider the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has enough information about Azerbaijanâ€.

Ahmadov said that YAP submitted to OSCE PA a letter of protest addressed to the OSCE Minsk Group.

Musavat chairman Isa Gambar told journalists that the meeting was held in a transparent atmosphere. Isa Gambar said they informed the OSCE PA President about the resettlement of about 200 Armenian families from Kyrgyzstan to Nagorno Karabakh: â€œPetros Efthymiou gave standard answers, which didnâ€™t satisfy usâ€.
