He confirmed that embassies of some NATO countries suspended their work, but Turkish embassy moved to Tunisia. UN staff was also evacuated from the Libyan capital. “I had phone conversation with the officials of the Turkish embassy and indeed they left Tripoli today. Recently there have been some facts of the attacks on the embassies of NATO countries and the Turkish embassy moved to Tunisia that not to cerate precedent. Azerbaijan is not a member of any military alliance, including NATO and therefore I think that they will not attack our embassy”.

Ambassador Shukurov said embassies of other countries, including Cyprus, Romania, Hungary and Denmark and CIS countries also continued their work in Tripoli. “The embassies of CIS countries, as well as our embassy have not been attacked. Local law-enforcement agencies enhanced the security measures around the embassies. Therefore I don’t see any serious threat for the embassy to move”.
