OIC Commission adopts resolution on Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation

In its annual session, the commission discussed the documents included in agenda of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

The OIC Council of Foreign Ministers will hold its next session later in June, 2011 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

ICYFDC Secretary-General, Ambassador Elshad Isgandarov said one of the points of the resolution was dedicated to the International Campaign â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ within the framework of the Program on Commemoration Day on Humanitarian Tragedies in OIC Countries in 20th centuryâ€.

The resolution called on the OIC member countries and institutions to strengthen their efforts toward the international recognition of the Khojaly massacre as a crime against the humanity.

The resolution highly appreciated the role of the Forum in strengthening of youth role in the UN Alliance for Union of Civilizations, in establishing of Global Youth Movement for Union of Civilizations founded in Baku on April 9-11, 2011 as the ICYFDC partner to the OIC.

Isgandarov spoke about the importance of the Global Youth Movement as the development of the movement founded in Baku on November, 2007 on the initiative of First Lady of Azerbaijan, UNESCO and ISESCO Good Will Ambassador, president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, the Forumâ€™s activity toward the development of Muslim youth development, as well as cooperation between the Forum and leading international organizations for the prevention of Islamophobia.
