Azerbaijani Embassy in Syria: “So far we have not received calls from our citizens living and studying in Syria”

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. The Azerbaijani Embassy in Syria is working according to normal schedule and with full staff, the embassy sources told APA.

The Azerbaijani citizens living, working or studying in Syria have not addressed the embassy in respect to the latest developments in the country so far. “We have regular contacts with the Azerbaijani citizens living in Syria. No one of them has addressed the embassy with any complaint. We warned them that if they wish, the embassy will assist them to get necessary documents in time to leave the country”.

According to the embassy, about 100 Azerbaijani citizens live and study in Syria at te present time.

Funerals of the people killed during the protest actions have been turned into another protest action today. Security forces opened fire on the demonstrators in some cities. Both sides had losses. Four protesters and five police officers were killed in Nava. Organizers of the recent anti-government action near Damascus were detained.
