PACE Committee holds preliminary hearing of Gultekin Hajibeyliâ€™s report â€œDemographic situation in Europe and migrationâ€

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe) Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population hold a meeting in Paris. Member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Gultekin Hajibeyli attended the meeting. Hajibeyli told APA that the PACE Committee held preliminary hearing of her report â€œDemographic situation in Europe and migrationâ€. She said European migration experts also attended the meeting. The report showed tendencies, living standards and job opportunities against the background of ageing and decrease in European population as one of the main reasons of migration. â€œI noted that rich and developed Europe should support the developing countries to regulate the situation. Rights and freedoms of the migrants should be protectedâ€, said Hajibeyli.

The parliamentarian said her report was highly appreciated and put on agenda of the PACE Committee meeting in September.
