Ago group members meet with heads of some opposition organizations in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. Members of Ago monitoring group of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers met with heads of some opposition organizations in Azerbaijan, APA reports. Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Karimli told journalists that they discussed Azerbaijanâ€™s fulfilling the commitments vis-Ã -vis the Council of Europe. He said they expressed their views on holding democratic elections in the country, problem of political prisoners, arrest of the young persons and bloggers, local elections.
â€œWe noted that Azerbaijan has not completely fulfilled the commitments. Therefore, the Council should change its attitude towards Azerbaijan, pursue more principal policy. They said they are continuing and will continue their efforts,â€ he said.

Chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Ali Karimli, chairman of Musavat Party Isa Gambar, chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu, leader of National Unity Movement Lala Shovkat, chairman of Citizen and Development Party Ali Aliyev, chairman of Umid (Hope) Party Igbal Agazadeh and president of Public Forum for Azerbaijan Eldar Namazov attended the meeting.
