Türkiye maintains open channels of communication for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, said President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the NATO summit in Ankara on July 7-8, APA reports.
"Türkiye keeps the channels of communication open to achieve peace in the Russian-Ukrainian war and continues to advocate diplomacy and lasting peace in the Iranian-American process," he wrote in X.
Speaking at a press conference following the summit, the Turkish leader stated that his country, which has advocated dialogue and diplomacy since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict and has repeatedly hosted negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, is once again ready to provide a platform for them.
"The two-day, intensive summit in Ankara demonstrated that Türkiye is a key player shaping NATO's security agenda, maintaining channels of dialogue in crisis situations, advocating for regional peace, and making a concrete contribution to the Alliance's transformation through its defense industrial capabilities. Türkiye will continue to strengthen cooperation with its allies and contribute to global peace and security with determination," Erdoğan emphasized.
