Azerbaijani Deputy Minister: â€œMany issues may depend on Turkeyâ€™s positionâ€

Victoria Dementyeva â€“ APA. â€œI think Mr. Davutoglu means Turkeyâ€™s political contribution to the conflict solution in his last statementâ€, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov speaking about the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutogluâ€™s statement on Nagorno Karabakh solution during the discussion of budget bill at the Turkish parliament. The Deputy Minister said Turkey was very close to the regional problems at the very beginning. â€œTurkey always attached attention to these issues and was always close partner to Azerbaijan. Of course, many issues may depend on the Turkeyâ€™s position. It creates good opportunity for Turkey, even directs it to choose what actions it would take toward the conflictâ€.

Davutoglu reminded that present status-quo of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict continues for 17 years. â€œWe give great importance to defending of Azerbaijani territories. If we donâ€™t attempt to change the status-quo in the next ten years, the current situation will be endless. We aim to change the situation in the region by the diplomatic way. Armenian-Turkish relations will be normalized in this caseâ€.
