Peter Semneby: The negotiations within the framework of Eastern Partnership will begin early next year

Baku. Viktoria Dementieva â€“ APA. â€œThe Eastern Partnership will be a part of the authorities of the new higher representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security. The appointment will be made after Lisbon treaty comes into force,â€ special representative of the European Union for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby told APA. Asked about the negotiations within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program, Semneby said the negotiations will start early next year.
â€œThe Association Agreement will be ready after the process of negotiations. The issue on the agenda is the adoption of the mandates for the negotiations with the European Union. We expect the process to begin early next year. Only after that decision will be made about the negotiations and the negotiations will be held approximately for a year or a year and a half,â€ he said.
Peter Semneby added that the first meeting within the framework of the Eastern Partnership will be held on the level of foreign ministers.

President of the European Union, higher representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security, head of the secretariat will be elected in the summit of the European Union leaders on November 19.
