OSCE Office in Baku concerns about sentencing of Azerbaijani bloggers

Baku â€“ APA. The OSCE Office in Baku expressed concern about the ruling in the court case of Emin Abdullayev and Adnan Hajizade, sentencing them to imprisonment, OSCE Office in Baku told APA. It said in the opinion of a number of OSCE participating states, certain procedural requirements were not fully complied with. The Office said it looked forward to the issuance of the reasoning of the judgment soon and anticipates thorough appeal proceedings to be carried out in full independence and fairness, in line with applicable domestic legislation and international standards.
The OSCE Office in Baku reiterates its commitment to continuing supporting the Azerbaijani Government and civil society in their endeavours to further strengthen democratic values, the rule of law and the respect for human rights in the country.
